ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Elisa Bertaglia is an Italian painter living and working in Rovigo, Milan, and New York, NY. Bertaglia follows a philosophical approach and an oneiric and symbolic language to portray a rich vocabulary of plants, animals and children, fully immersed into imaginary, but possible, landscapes. Most recently, Bertaglia was selected for the artist residency at Kunstraum LLC in Brooklyn, NY. Her works are in permanent collections worldwide, including the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation and Museum of Contemporary Art, Penne, Italy. Bertaglia was awarded the Arte Laguna Prize, Arsenale, Venice. Her work has been exhibited in galleries, museums and institutions internationally, including the Guggenheim Museum, Venice, Italy; Borges Cultural Center, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Saitama, Japan.

Reuven Israel (b. 1978, Jerusalem) is an artist living and working in Brooklyn and Tel Aviv. His autonomous abstract sculptures, coated in a perfectly smooth and slick car paint, are handmade meticulously, so much so that they give off the visual impression of industrial production. Israel’s work has been shown around the globe in prominent institutions such as Fridman Gallery, New York, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv, and Rockefeller Archaeological Museum, Jerusalem. He has received several awards, including the Israeli Ministry of Culture’s Young Artist Award, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art’s Legacy Heritage Fund Prize, and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship. His work is in numerous private collections around the world.

Amy Lemaire is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. As an artist, Lemaire works with glass, photography and digital fabrication. She was awarded by The Museum of Art and Design and Pratt Institute, among others. Her work was shown at The Delaware Contemporary, Helena Anrather Gallery, and The Norton Museum, and more. Lemaire’s work is in many private and museum collections.

Dov Talpaz is an American–Israeli artist born in Bryan, Texas and based in New York, NY. Talpaz offers a delicate, profound view of his inner world through an artistically diverse range of technique and subject matter. Tackling feelings difficult to define with words, he turns back to views from his past, or engages classical movie characters or biblical stories to process them. Painting, collage, or pastels alike, Talpaz’s art looks deep into motifs engraved in his life and persona. Dov Talpaz has exhibited locally and internationally, and his work is included in many private and public collections worldwide, including the Bank Leumi Collection, Israel, Rema Hort Foundation, New York, the Javor Collection, Vienna,  AU, and the Gary & Tracy Stein Collection, Houston.

Nicolas Touron is an artist and storyteller working in ceramics and painting. In 2001, he was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. His work was shown by institutions such as the Kunsthall Rotterdam, The Royal Society of American Art, and Sculpture Space, among many others. Touron’s work has been featured prominently in the USA as well as internationally in art galleries, museums and public spaces. His work is in numerous private collections around the world. Touron is currently in Residency at the Harvard Ceramic Program.
